With our private pet cremation, your pet is cremated separately in a space that guarantees only their ashes will be returned to you.

Your pet’s ashes will be returned to you in a customized wooden urn of your choice or a scatter tube at no extra cost.

A traditional scatter box is also available for families who do not want an urn or who are unsure which option they want during such an emotional time and need a temporary holding vessel.

With any option, a stainless steel numbered ID tag is returned with your pet’s ashes to guarantee accuracy, and families can expect the return of ashes usually within one week of pickup (often less).

We offer pickup from your vet or your home and return the ashes to the same location.

Please note: Kootenay Pet Cremations also offers the standard scatter box option upon request or through some participating veterinary clinics as part of our "basic" cremation service.

With our communal cremation service, your pet is cremated alongside other beloved pets. This greener, more affordable option is for families who do not wish to have their pet’s ashes returned, while still ensuring their pet is cared for with dignity and respect.

After cremation, ashes are returned to the earth in and around our property in rural Fruitvale, in peaceful natural settings such as forested areas, wildflower meadows, and quiet viewpoints. With nearby hiking trails and open forested land, many families find comfort knowing their pet rests peacefully in nature, close to home.
